Gerald & Eric Lewis: Judo Instructors
Performance Martial Arts Academy is pleased to announce two more high-caliber Judo black belts as Instructors. Gerald has been teaching Judo for over 25 years, earning his Ni-Dan ranking from Sensei Jim Camarillo at South Valley Judo Club. During his tenure instructing at South Valley Judo Club Gerald had a hand in helping to develop many high level judoka, including Jim’s sons, David and Daniel Camarillo. Outside of instructing, he has also had the opportunity to do a lot of refereeing in the southern California and Las Vegas tournament scene.
Also joining the PMAA team is Gerald’s son, Eric Lewis, who was also brought up in Sensei Camarillo’s club. He has been training since he was a kid and been instructing for over two years. Both Gerald and Eric have also had the opportunity to travel abroad to Japan and train at many world-class dojos. The highlight of their trip was a stop at Tsukuba University where they got to train with the legendary Isao Okano.
